Our task was to place the icon of the Annunciation on the back of the sakkos, and intertwine crosses and lilies in the ornament of the vestment. The vestment is made according to an individual design. The floral ornament and the four-pointed cross with three-petal ends were taken from an old sakkos, presumably dating from the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 18th century.
The main feature of this vestment is the color of the fabric. Together with the customer, we chose dense silk, in which the interweaving of threads of different colors creates the effect of antiquity. We picked up metallic threads of a light shade for embroidery and it turned out to be a festive, but at the same time a noble vestment.
The vestment is made according to an individual design. The icon of the Mother of God was chosen by the customer, its size and location were discussed in detail. The most important task for us was not to make the product visually heavy, but to maintain lightness and harmony.
